Looking for an Android based handset but the recent launch of Nexus One confused you on which one to buy???
Below is a droolComparision of Hardware specs of both the phones:
DROID is manufactured by Motorola while Nexus One by HTC. The droolPoint for this one goes to Nexus One. Why? Because HTC has done a lot more smartphones than Motorola and is considered far better in Hardware quality terms by experts.
- Nexus One boasts a mighty 1 Ghz processor. Now that would definitely stand out. Nexus One is surely a winner here. Both the phones come with expandable memory slot, and sport equal amount of maximum limit there. But MOTO is throwing in 16GB of card along with the phone while Nexus One comes with only 4GB. DROID gets its first droolPoint here.
- Both of them sport same sized screen, but the difference comes in the type. DROID got a LCD screen, while Nexus One brings up OLED. Now in the layman language, OLED presents much more crisp display at less power and less weight. In more technical terms, as per wikipedia:
A significant advantage of OLED displays over traditional liquid crystal displays (LCDs) is that OLEDs do not require a backlight to function. Thus, they can display deep black levels, draw far less power, and can be much thinner and lighter than an LCD panel. OLED displays also naturally achieve much higher contrast ratio than LCD monitors.
Nexus One gets another drool here.
- I am not a big fan of physical keyboards, if we have a good quality on screen option. But in reality, most people prefer physical keyboard, especially from business users. Droid does sport a physical keyboard, although its not a Blackberry or HTC tilt quality. Also to mention, Nexus One sports something different, a trackball. But it won’t substitute for the real qwerty. DROID gets another drool.
- DROID initially had pretty bad reviews of its camera, which were mainly due to a software bug and seem to have been fixed now, but it surely proves better than Nexus One, for Dual LED flash and double the zoom.
- Being Sexy was something android phones could never achieve. Well Nexus One got that fixed up. it is slim and light weight. Even slimmer than iPhone. Beat that! 2 drools to Nexus One.
- DROID is CDMA only, while Nexus One is supposed to come out in both flavors pretty soon. So, another one for the new guy.
Look, what are we left with? DROID got 3 drools in total while Nexus One outdid it by fetching 7 drools.
So, if you are an Android fan, look no further than Nexus One!
